What is TG Comics?
TG Comics is a webcomic about the lives of transgender people written by Thomas G. Tucker, an American writer, and artist. This comic is a great representation of the transgender community because it shows how diverse and multifaceted this group can be.
This genre of webcomics is created by artists who share the same experience living as transgender people. TG comics can provide a sense of community for those who are trans and show them how they relate to others who live in the same situation. TG Comics was founded by Jake Sergeant in 2011 when he was only 15 years old. He wanted to create a comic that would help him understand himself better because he felt that he had been too sheltered from trans people for most of his life.
He started the comic with two characters- one who identifies as agender and the other who identifies as transmasculine, but they were not happy with how they were being represented and with their own identities so they both left the comic. They have been replaced in recent updates by new characters and storylines that represent the LGBTQ+ community more accurately like gender.

The comic’s main character is TG, a transgender woman who often engages in surreal adventures with her three friends: Tony Abbot, the “handsome” straight white male; Leslie, the lesbian woman who can’t find a girlfriend; and Corey, a gay man who can’t find a boyfriend. These three friends are often accompanied by their friend Shameless, a talking dog that lives in TG’s closet.
TG Comics has been written since 2009 and includes over 200 comics about what it’s like to be transgender as well as themes such as gender identity, relationships, and sexuality. It also provides some lighthearted humor about life for transgender people that isn’t always addressed in other popular trans comics.
